Community Needs and Special Grants
Community Needs and Special Grants are offered once a year and are intended to support one-time, short-term projects that address current community issues with the goal of positively impacting the community served by Northern Berkshire United Way. The committee takes into account the unique assets and needs in Northern Berkshire and evaluates all applications with the available funding each year.
Applicants do not need to be member agencies of Northern Berkshire United Way but must be designated by the IRS as a charitable organization. The projects must support safety net services for low to moderate-income populations, and support a diverse, inclusive population. Projects that have not been previously funded are given priority.
2025 applications opened in March and must be received at Northern Berkshire United Way by April 30, 2025 for the funding decisions which will be announced in June. The application to apply is located here or you can contact Emily Conley, Administrative and Outreach Associate at econley@nbunitedway.org or by phone at: 413-663-9062 for an application.
