At Northern Berkshire United Way, we weave together local ideas, people, and resources so every neighbor—especially the most vulnerable—can thrive. Grounded in real‑time community data and lived insight, our programs deliver solutions custom‑built for the unique challenges of Northern Berkshire County.

We are a leader in community building activities and a successful convener and collaborator, bringing together and working with the community to accomplish common goals and effecting positive change.

North Adams' Born Learning Trail

Born Learning Trails are a United Way campaign for developing early childhood learning and parental engagement with community partners. The North Adams trail was sponsored by the Northern Berkshire United Way, one of the ways the agency is seeking to more directly give back to community.

Community Needs & Special Grants

The Community Needs and Special Grants Committee reviews data on well-being and community issues then recommends to NBUW’s Board of Directors priorities for funding, membership, and other decisions.

Special 1-time and major long-term grants for local needs come from Northern Berkshire United Way’s own funds.
